Braun Series 3 Electric Shaver Review

The Braun Series 3 Electric Shaver range, consists of 4 models.

Two models provide Dry shaving options, and 2 support both Wet and Dry shaving.

Features of the Braun Series 3 Electric Shaver Range.

The shaving head on all Series 3 shavers feature 3 separate shaving elements. These all float independently of each other. This allows the shaver to better follow the contours of your face and provide a closer shave.

These three shaving elements consist of two separate shaving foils placed either side of a central trimmer. Braun’s two Sensofoils cut both short and longer hairs effortlessly, while the center trimmer moves laterally to lift and cut flat lying hairs. The system has proven so effective that has gone on to provide the basis of the more advanced (and expensive) series 5 and series 7 ranges as well.

All models are fully waterproof. This means they can be easily cleaned under running water.

The top of the line is the 390cc model which comes with the Braun Clean and Renew docking system. According to Braun, this Cleaning system leaves the shaver 10 times more Hygenic than cleaning it under a tap, and also dries and charges the shaver.

Whilst the 390cc and 330S models are Dry Shaving only, the 340S and 380S can be used with foams and gels, and in the shower if you prefer the wet shaving option.

All 4 models feature a digital battery indicator, and a foil replacement indicator.

In the case of the 330S and 340S the battery indicator has 2 levels, whilst the 380-s has 3 and the 390cc has a 5 stage battery indicator. As it comes with the clean and renew system, the 390cc also has a digital hygiene readout.

All models offer 45 minute battery life on a 1 hour recharge, and all have a 5 minute “Quick Charge” feature that will get you through a single shave.

Similarly all models feature automatic voltage adaption (between 100 and 240 volts) making it suitable for international travel, and NiMh batteries, with the benefit of no memory effect.

The DRY only models support corded and cordless shaving, whilst the wet shave models, (for safety), are cordless shaving only.

The 390CC and 380S models come with a travel case, whilst the 340-s and 330-s come with a protective shaver head cap.
