Confusion over the Braun Series 9 Shaver on Amazon
We first posted about the brilliant new Braun Series 9 Shaver some months ago, when it was first seen
on Amazon USA, via a seller from Japan.
This Japanese seller continues to be the only way to buy Braun Series 9 shavers on Amazon USA. So,for now they are all shipping out of Japan complete with the necessary power adapter so they work fine in the USA, straight out of the box.
This seems to be causing confusion on two fronts.
Firstly, these products, as with all Braun products, are designed and made in Germany, not in Japan as some
of our readers have suggested, secondly:
Braun Series 9 Shaver not Brown Series 9
This took us a little longer to understand.
The listings for the three, Series 9 models currently on Amazon USA all Say “Brown” not Braun Series 9″.
The error may simply stem from the fact that the word “Braun” translated to English, means Brown. We think we
found the answer in this video, from the mouths of Braun themselves
As you can hear, when Braun created their videos, they translated the name into English and pronounced the word Braun, as Brown.
Whilst in one way this is correct, it overlooks the fact that the world knows the Braun brand, as “Braun”.
In their Amazon listings the Japanese seller has simply spelt the name as they hear it in the manufactures Videos.
Confusion solved.
The next thing to mention is that I have seen one piece of feedback, suggesting that the Brown (read Braun) Series 9 might be an illegal knock off, but closer scrutiny will satisfy you that the Braun (Brown) series 9 electric razor options currently available on Amazon USA are the real deal.
