#1 Emjoi Ap-18 Emagine 72 Tweezer Head

#1 Best Epilator -Emjoi AP-18
The Emjoi AP-18 introduces 3 significant features that place it at the top of our Best Epilator list.

Firstly, this unit has 72 tweezers, which is more than any other on the market.

This means that the Emjoi AP-18 simply removes more hairs faster. More tweezers also means you will need to make fewer passes over an area to obtain the desired result, namely silky smooth skin for up to 6 weeks.

Secondly, Emjoi has a patented “Glide Technology” which it claims means less irritation, and this is coupled with its “Silver Ion” Technology to protect against  bacterial infection.

The third feature is in the way that the head is arranged. It is designed to gently stretch the skin. From there, two opposed, staggered heads provide for faster hair removal, but most importantly, its exclusive middle fingers lift short or flattened hairs for easier, less painful removal.

Unlike many of its main competitors, this Epilator is neither cordless nor waterproof, so it cannot be used in the shower or bath. It does however provide a constant power output (which a battery powered unit cannot), and it overcomes the problem of having to throw the whole unit away, as you do with others when their batteries fail.

The unit has 2 operating speed settings.

User feedback seems to support Emjoi’s claims, with suggestions that removing leg hair is up to 5 times faster, although the overall result might be slightly less smooth than some other units on the market.

The Emjoi comes with a cleaning brush included. Option extras (available at extra cost) include a Shaver Head, Replacement Tweezer Head, Power Adaptor and an International Power supply covering 100 through 240 Volt usage.

The Emjoi AP-18 is among Amazon’s best selling – top rated Epilators for women.

The pivoting performance cap helps to maintain the ideal operating angle and the built in light helps to locate even fine hairs.

#4 Braun Silk Epil Female Epilator SE7921 Spa

Braun Silk Epil Female Epilator SE7921
With this package Braun have identified the need to exfoliate when Epilating, and have added a high density (replaceable) brush with 10,000 fine bristles designed to readily remove dead skin.

Overall the unit is very similar in performance to the Braun SE7681, offering either Wet or Dry functionality
The unit cannot be used while plugged into a wall socket, and cannot be used if the skin is damp as opposed to wet as it is in a bath or shower.

This unit also has 40 pairs of tweezers, and like its sister product struggles to compete with the Emjoi AP-18 for power and rapid hair removal, but the trade off is the convenience of the Wet or Dry option and the portability of a battery powered device.

Best Epilator Reviews

Those are our top 5 Epilators for women. Admittedly we have settled on offerings from the upper end of the market, but with a process like Epilating cheaper units tend to mean fewer features and increased discomfort.

In the end we chose power and speed over the flexibility of Wet/Dry, use anywhere models. The fact that our #1 is also free of the rechargeable battery that so often spells the end of an Epilator is a major factor as well.

Whether you opt for power/speed, or greater flexibility of function, one of these Epilators will serve you well.. We also have a guide on how to move from Shaving/Waxing to an Epilator, in the hope of making your transition as “pain free” as possible. We hope it will be of assistance if you are making the switch.
